Hear from this adorable match who’s celebrating their one year match anniversary:

Meeting weekly at Kate’s school, we were able to enjoy time together by playing games or doing art crafts while we talked. We played games that Kate already knew like Uno and Mancala. We also learn new games that we really enjoy like Ono 99, Castle Panic, and Sequence. We also learned new games that we found we didn’t like as much like Blink. During some of our visits we made art projects, like coloring, painting wooden magnets and other crafts.

We transitioned from school-based to community-based mentoring. We enjoyed meeting at the library where we still enjoyed playing games and crafts. When the weather is nice, we like to meet at a park, where Kate really enjoys to setup ninja courses. She loves the monkey bars. She also shows me various gymnastic moves. Kate loves to do as many cartwheels as she can in a row and is continuing to practice at getting better on her round-offs. We have also enjoyed playing Cornhole together.

Kate really enjoyed going to Camp Streefland. Archery was here favorite activity. She’s afraid of heights, but I’m happy to say that she faced her fears and climb up part of the rock climbing wall while we were there.

Another fun event that we enjoyed during winter break was spending time together going to the Blast, an indoor playground at Eagan Community Center, and having lunch together.
